About Charlotte Ferguson…

Founder & Director

Charlotte is a seasoned HR professional with a focus on the recruitment and development of top legal talent.

She is passionate about helping law firms to accelerate growth by attracting and retaining the very best candidates. With over 20 years’ experience in recruitment, employer brand development and workforce strategy within the private and public sectors, Charlotte recognises the value of customising solutions to align with the unique goals and aspirations of each client.

As an experienced in-house and agency recruiter, until recently Charlotte spent six years leading Talent Acquisition teams for two national UK Top 100 law firms in the South West, and successfully recruited countless legal professionals, including senior Lawyers and Partners. More recently, she spent two years with a recruitment agency in Exeter where she continued supporting highly experienced lawyers to find their next career move within private practice in the region, before founding Osprey Talent Solutions.

Working with partners and senior leaders in law has given Charlotte considerable insight into the pressures and challenges of recruiting, developing, retaining and progressing top talent in the South West region. Using her understanding of the legal sector, Charlotte now helps experienced lawyers to navigate their career progression options (through her work with Talis Legal Recruitment), whilst working to support law firms with their hiring needs and wider talent strategy.

During her professional studies with CIPD, Charlotte became curious about the connection between motivated and engaged employees and thriving, successful businesses. She realised that recruitment is often viewed as a transactional HR process, but if approached with the candidates’ experience at its core, it can enhance employer brand, increase existing employee engagement and ultimately attract the talent the business needs to grow and evolve.

Her interests and expertise includes experienced and senior legal recruitment, candidate attraction, selection and hiring processes, onboarding & induction, role scoping/job descriptions, defining career pathways and progression routes, pay, reward & benefits, employer branding, employee engagement, talent retention and strategic workforce planning.
